About us
Kristen Ruhkala
Kristen Ruhkala family roots start in Rocklin CA with the Ruhkala family. The Ruhkala’s have been prominent contributors to the local community for over 120 years. They are credited with the Granite industry that makes up the famous Trans American Building in San Francisco to the steps of the State Capitol.
The Ruhkala’s have “SISU”, from the Finnish heritage, which translates to “strength of will, determination and perseverance” that allows her to assist customers with great enthusiasm!
She uses this on a daily basis as a mortgage consultant which she has been a Senior Loan Officer for the past 20 years. She is with one of the most reputable companies, Big Valley Mortgage.

Christopher Tagert
Christopher retired recently after 28 years as a middle school US History teacher. Left on top of his game as the "Daughters of American Revolution's California US History Teacher of 2022".
During his tenure, he has led over 25 years of educational trips to the East Coast and has worked with several different travel companies where he has gained the knowledge on what works vs what does not work.
He has extensive knowledge of the planning phase, logistics and timeframes and enjoys educating those that want to travel.
He continues his passion of educating in the real estate market since 2019 where he joined eXp realty. "I enjoy taking my experience in education and assisting people with one of the most important things in their lives... real estate transactions. The amount of stress people go through is not having a clear understanding of the process. Walking through them together and educating them, makes it all worthwhile!"
